Weekly Wallpaper: Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series Edition
Welcome to our weekly wallpaper series, where we attempt to remove whatever boring standard desktop wallpaper came with your computer, phone, tablet, or any other device with a screen—and replace it with something better. Something, preferably, with four wheels and a fantastic exhaust note.
This week, we've got a special one, and I'm not talking about only the photos. It's the Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series, one of the best cars to ever come from Affalterbach.
If you're looking for the facts and figures surrounding the CLK63 AMG Black Series, sure, we can provide them. It does 0-60 in 4.1 seconds, produces 500 horsepower and 465 pounds feet of torque from a naturally-aspirated 6.2L V8 and weights a svelte 3,850 pounds, but this Black Series isn't about the numbers. The beauty of the Black Series is all about how it feels (and sounds) behind the wheel.
One look at the carbon fiber rear diffuser means this isn't just a normal, plush Mercedes. Ample carbon fiber–both on the inside of the car and out–along with a standard rear seat delete shaves nearly 100 pounds off the standard CLK63 AMG. A widened track, a stiffer suspension and a limited slip rear differential all contribute to improved communication behind the wheel on the road or track. Not to mention the unmistakable burble from a hand-built AMG V8 coming through a sports exhaust.
