Mercedes-Benz W204 (C300, E350, ML350, & More) Intake Manifold Replacement Kit - Features, Symptoms, And Product Review
This intake manifold kit is designed for Mercedes-Benz models featuring the M272 V6 engine produced from 2006 through 2011. Our intake manifold kit takes the ordering guesswork out of the manifold replacement process.
The intake manifold on the Mercedes-Benz M272 is a complex mechanical unit that features numerous plastic arms and flaps inside out. Although you can purchase each plastic component individually, we don't recommend doing so, and instead, purchasing our kit.
Mercedes-Benz W204 Manifold Replacement Kit Failure Symptoms
These intake manifolds for the M272 engine fail when one of the plastic lever arms or internal plastic flaps breaks. When the plastic lever arm breaks, the internal flaps will either get stuck open, or get stuck closed.
If the flap gets stuck open, you might not notice any of the symptoms listed below, except for a check engine light. If the flap gets stuck closed however, you will notice very apparent driveability issues.
While you can replace just the plastic lever arms on the manifold, we don't recommend doing so. The plastic components externally and internally wear at the same rate, and if the plastic flaps inside were to fail, they get sucked into your engine requiring a rebuild.
Symptoms of a failing intake manifold on your Mercedes-Benz W204 range from non-existent to an almost un-drivable car. Some of these symptoms are:
- Check engine light illuminated
- Fault codes P2004, P2005, and/or P2006
- Rough running, particularly at idle
Since the intake requires regular replacement, you should just be replacing it before symptoms ever arise to save yourself an immeasurable amount of headache. Replacement is required around every 70,000 miles.
