Like an M car, the BMW 135is is one of those vehicles that came from the factory without needing much in the way of exterior upgrades. It's hard to find a fault, and the only questionable areas (IMO) on this rare vehicle involve BMW's subtle use of chrome on various trim pieces like the grille and badging.

With factory shadowline door and window trim, it's a no brainer to complete the look with shadowline grilles and badging. With the 135is logo successfully blacked out days before, fixing the kidneys was the only thing left.

Installation

1. Remove the four T30 Torx bits affixing the top of the bumper cover to the core support.

2. Pull the rubber gasket off of the headlights to free the bumper cover.

3. Pull back the bumper cover to familiarize yourself with the clips that fasten each kidney grille. These tabs require either a finger or a pick tool to push the center in before pulling the grill outwards.

4. Press the center of the tabs with your finger to release the top clips.

5: Release the side and bottom clips with a long, curved implement like a pick tool.

6: With the grilles removed, clean the cavity and push the new pieces straight in. They will snap into place with little effort. Pop the rubber gasket back on to the headlights, and affix the bumper cover with the T30 Torx screws.
