BMW Air Filter Parts

BMW has made it a tradition to make quality products and vehicles; all while making the opposition keep up with their high standards. Their integrity speaks for itself and follows into their products, even in their air filter parts and components. Your BMW’s cabin air filter is a micron or charcoal-composed filter used to dispose of pollutants and allergens from entering the cabin of a vehicle. BMWs have integrated cabin air filters ever since the 1980s. The filters can be found at the air-intake area of your engine compartment firewall. Regrettably, BMW vehicles did not put this location universally on all the makes they made. The first thing you need to do when replacing your BMW’s air filter is to open the glove compartment and take out all of the objects from inside. Take out the glove compartment assembly and screws with a Phillips head. Look to your BMW’s repair manual for the specific location of the screws or carefully look around the perimeter of the interior glove box to find the screws. Next, find the lower trim panel retaining screws in the back of the glove box assembly. Take out the screws with a Phillips head and then remove the panel. Take out the foot well air duct and loosen the screws of the control module box to all you to lower it down. Turn the cabin air filter panel knob counterclockwise to open the panel. Pull the filter tab outward to take out the filter. Put in the new filter and reverse the order to reassemble the foot well air duct, the trim panel, and the glove compartment. If you have questions about BMW’s air filter parts or components, the FCP Euro team and website are here for any support.

BMW Air Filter Parts Online

In certain types of BMW models you may have to open the bonnet and locate the cabin air filter housing, located near the cowling on the top section of the firewall. Some models place the housing in the middle of the cowling, on both sides of the cowling or on the passenger side cowling. Some 7-Series BMWs put the filter housings on both the left and right side undercarriage of the bonnet. You then will have to release the cabin air filter duct clamp. This can either be released by unclipping the air filter duct by pressing a retaining lock with your fingers or using a flathead screwdriver to pry off a retaining rod. Lift the cover upward or downward on bonnet-installed 7-Series BMWs to get to the air filter. Take out the your BMW’s air filter from the air duct and put in the new cabin air filter and then reconstruct.
